DA 14

In comparison to the DA 13, the DA 14 offers an improved case design. The DA 14 case is completely sealed and complies with the IP-67 standard (waterproof down to 1 meter /3 feet and dust tight). The usage of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic material increases its mechanical robustness, torsional stiffness and EMI/RFI shielding.
Our fully programmable DA 14 provide all steel gear trains and are available in two case versions: Version A is meant to be directly screwed in place, Version B to be fixed with rubber grommets.

DA 15

Besides our well proven brushed DA 15-05-32 and DA 15-05-60 we now offer a brushless alternative with contactless position sensing with the same form factor for safety critical application where extreme high lifetime is required: the DA 15-N. It is available for 6 and 12V DC.

Some customers such as AAI Corp. that use our micro-actuators, e.g. in their Aerosonde, UAV want to use our servos even under the toughest environmental conditions. Accordingly, they must have enhanced dust and water-resistance characteristics, all steel gear trains and shielded, tightly sealed housings.

The DA 15 actuators, developed to meet these customer requirements, are our solution and enable us to offer a version of our DA 13 series that can withstand even the toughest conditions.

Machined from a solid block of salt water resistant aluminum alloy, the sealed DA 15 cases meet IP 67 standard and provide EMI/RFI shielding. They can be provided with either an integrated M5 round connector system or with a pig tail connector.

There is a power variant and a speed variant available, similar to the DA 13 and DA 14 series.
Both versions of the DA 15 actuator are fully programmable and use all steel gears! The cases feature integrated mounting facilities for horizontal and vertical fixing.

The DA 15‐N is our smallest and lightest full brushless actuator.
Its brushless motor and contactless, wear free position sensing system makes the DA 15‐N immune to wear, vibrations and shock loads. It has especially been designed for the usage in harsh environments and for safety critical applications that require an actuator with high endurance. The conductive aluminum case and the shielded connection cable are reducing the susceptibility to any kind to EMI/RFI noise to the absolute minimum. The servo features position feedback as a standard and is fully programmable

DA 15-N-ISS

The DA 15-N-ISS is based on the well proven full brushless DA 15-N actuator and features the Internal Servo Safer System (ISS), unique in that size, making it the toughest micro actuator on the market.
The ISS is a mechanical gear protection system protecting the gear set against any kind of radial shock-loads exceeding a predefined limit (adjustable to customer requirements).

Its brushless motor and contactless, wear free position sensing system, make the DA 15-N-ISS immune to wear, vibration and shock loads. It has especially been designed for the usage in harsh environments and for safety critical applications that require an actuator with high endurance and which can withstand high shock loads (e.g. net recovery). The conductive aluminum case and the shielded connection cable are reducing the susceptibility to all kinds of EMI/RFI noise to the absolute minimum.

The servo is fully programmable. The DA 15-N is available with a traditional PWM-interface but also with a serial RS-485 interface.

The housings of our DA 20 series are made of CNC-machined aluminum die-cast elements with a lower casing made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic. The aluminum parts are rugged, torsion-resistant and dissipate internal heat. As with all our actuators, the DA 20 also has a steel gear train and is fully programmable using our programming tool (available as accessories).

DA 22

We offer our DA 22 actuators in a short and a long case version - the longer being more powerful, i.e. offering higher continuous torque capabilities.

The CNC machined sealed cases, made of saltwater resistant aluminum, comply with the IP 67 standard for water/dust resistance and provide EMI/RFI shielding. All types of our DA 22 actuators use all steel gear trains with ISS gear protection system as an option and are fully programmable (motor overload protection, Fail Safe position in case of PWM command signal lost, etc.). Integrated M8 round male connector (optional MIL specified connector or integrated cable with screwed cable gland). The cases offer integrated lug mounts for both horizontal and vertical installation.

DA 22-12-2615 - short design (51 mm)
Even though this actuator is rather compact and light it features a relatively high continuous torque output of 80 Ncm (110 oz-in). It can be used for functions with average continuous loads, where speed is of lesser importance (like ailerons and flaps in smaller UAVs).

DA 22-12-4112 – long design (71 mm)
Its high continuous torque of 120 Ncm (170 oz-in) make it the proper choice for applications with relatively high continuous loads and where speed is of lesser importance like on flaps, control surfaces or undercarriage retraction in fixed wing applications.

To guarantee maximum safety and reliability, our DA 26 features a brushless motor and a contactless wear free position sensor. This means maximum service life with the greatest-possible power delivery and its design prevents electromagnetic emissions (EMI) caused by brush sparking. The housing made of saltwater-resistant aluminum is HART-coat treated, meets the IP-67 standard for water and dust sealing and provides an integrated Sub-D connector (MIL spec. circular connector or cable gland on request). Brackets integrated in the housing for horizontal and vertical assembly. 6-fold, ball-bearing supported, steel gear train, Drive shaft with ANSI multi-tooth (quadratic drive shaft on request).

The DA 26 series can be equipped with a standard PWM input (pulse width modulation) that has two different interfaces: a differential, galvanic isolated interface (opto-coupler) and a signle-ended interface with CMOS levels that is also used to program the servo parameters. Analog position feedback to detect the drive shaft position. A differential RS-422 PWM interface can be chosen instead of the opto-coupled interface.

The DA 26 with digital serial command interface (RS-485) receives its commands via a CRC secured protocol. It can return not only the shaft position in digital format, but also several diagnostic data such as the level of the supply voltage, current consumption and the temperature of the motor and electronics in digital form (optionally also the humidity within actuator case). These kind of diagnostic capabilities help to determine the health state of the actuators before, during and after deployment.

DA 26 actuators have been subjected to endurance tests of more than 3 million cycles (> 2,000 hours). Furthermore, successful tests based on MIL-STD 810F (vibration) and 810G (acceleration/shock) are performed. DA 26 actuators are used, for instance, in the Schiebel Camcopter S100.

DA 15-T

Our throttle servos are compact fly-by-wire actuators for direct installation on the throttle valve shaft of a combustion engine. That eliminates the need for the rudder linkage and bowden cables, shortens the installation time and minimizes the installation space and overall weight!

The servos are fully programmable. Our PC programming tool permits teaching of the idle and full throttle positions. These are assigned to automatically determined position feedback signal values. Teaching the idle and full throttle position makes it possible to replace a throttle valve servo or a throttle-servo unit without having to change the engine control unit.

DA 20-T

The DA 20-T has been installed for years by engine manufacturers such as Hirth and UAV engines in series motors.

No internal wiring, its brushless motor and contactless, wear free position detection make the DA 20-T immune to vibrations as successfully proven in a 1,000 hour vibration test and testing in accordance with MIL-standard 810F. Designed for use at high temperatures, only components with expanded temperature ranges were put to use. The connection cable is shielded and specified for aviation applications. The DA 20-T was tested as per MIL standard 810F and 810G.
