VOLZ actuators for Schiebel CAMCOPTER® S-100
Schiebel, the Austrian developer and manufacturer of the
CAMCOPTER® S-100 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) and VOLZ have successfully cooperated in developing a
redundant RS-485 version of the
VOLZ DA 26 actuator
to be used in the CAMCOPTER® S-100.
The experience Schiebel has gained through many years in the helicopter business as well as the expertise VOLZ has achieved during 27 years
in the actuator market have been incorporated into the DA 26, resulting in its outstanding performance, internal design and reliability, thus
meeting highest Unmanned Aerial Vehicle requirements.
The RS 485 serial interface in its single and duplex (redundant) version provides the status of
- PCB- and motor temperature
- load condition
- current consumption
- operating hours
- actuator internal humidity (duplex version)
for advanced data communication between actuator and autopilot.
For the American market Boeing and Schiebel have joined forces to market and support the S-100, that has been designed to carry multiple
payloads up to 50kg (110lbs). In standard configuration the S-100 can carry 34kg (75lb) for up to six hours and travel at an impressive 120
knots. Fixed-mounted daylight and/or infrared cameras provide the operator with situational awareness and orientation.
